Having now had several years’ experience building with the REZICAST® precast concrete system and working with you and your team I would like to highlight the benefits I have found.

We are small custom builders and from my point of view these are the key positives to us using the REZICAST® system:

• Reduced construction time as so much of the structure is produced off site and then roof coverings can be installed early on in the timeline, mostly avoiding wet weather delays.
• The ability of us with a very small (2-3 person) directly employed workforce to get structure to lockup in greatly reduced time compared to brick veneer or clad frame construction.
• The ability to apply the system to, in our case, three-bedroom budget builds right through to 550 square metre architect designed boutique This has all been done with the same small workforce.
• Significantly reduced amounts of construction
• The system is a point of difference to every other builder competing for the client. We find most people already have the perception when they come to us that precast concrete construction is stronger and more durable than other methods. We also find rapid acceptance of the other benefits we highlight to potential clients such as superior thermal and acoustic performance.

Overall, I am extremely happy I chose to begin building using REZICAST® Systems, especially with the expert help and advice given at the beginning. At that point I had over fifteen years1 experience as a residential builder but absolutely no experience in precast concrete. It basically took only one build to become comfortable in using precast concrete.

Please have no hesitation in passing on my experiences to builders who are considering adopting REZICAST® Systems and I am happy to personally answer any questions they may have from a builders point of view.

Adopting the REZICAST® System for an Aboriginal Housing Office project significantly accelerated the speed at which the construction was completed. The intelligent design of the REZICAST® System enabled us to achieve true lock-up in less than 10 days, minimising our exposure to weather conditions. The versatility of the system is a great advantage particularly during the wetter seasons.

We were able to become cashflow positive within the early weeks of the project. As the solid precast concrete panels are manufactured in factory conditions, it ensures a high-level quality product. This mitigates workmanship error and defects requiring rework.

In comparison to a conventional build, we found that using REZICAST® System, there was far less waste on site, and we were able to save dramatically on preliminaries. As a result, handover can be achieved with in a few months as opposed to 6-12months. The underlying benefit for our business, is not just the efficiencies for onsite resources dedicated to the project, but the office resources allocated to the project. It gave us more room to focus on other projects and free up our business’s resources.

We found that due to the speed at which construction activities transition, we had to be proactive in planning. Feedback was positive from our subcontractors, as the program was precise and they were able to work off a firm program. Overall, we were impressed by the REZICAST® System’s adaptability to strict design briefs, to meet government specification, and varied site constraints.

We believe the Patented REZICAST® Home Building System is poised to become a new construction standard in Australia, helping to address the housing shortage while delivering efficiencies on future projects well beyond residential builds.

GHASENSW have several projects in the pipeline using REZICAST® Systems as it is designed to resist and withstand the impacts and high risk associated with extreme weather events, such as cyclones and earth quakes, due to the strength and durability of the panels.

A major draw card is the speed of getting a project to lock-up in comparison to a conventional build. Depending on the overall design you can typically achieve lock-up within three weeks and the labour required to achieve this stage is therefore significantly reduced as well as a reduction in trade waste. The panels are installed prior to slab preparation, and therefore, no formwork is required.

Due to the overall strength and durability of the product, ongoing maintenance is kept to a minimum and the acoustic properties add value and comfort by reducing the transfer of unwanted noise.

There are multiple options when it comes to the finish of the REZICAST® panels, for example, raw, polished, texture coat, render, nawkaw, reverse veneer to name a few which makes it an optimal choice for a broad clientele base.

When used correctly, the REZICAST® panel can provide your home with the benefit of thermal properties to keep a consistent and comfortable temperature within the home.
